While I was adding Air Diver to the "Bad Game I Like" page, I thought, "I have a page about bad games I like, so why do I not have a page about good games I don't like?" This is that page. Alas, I am too lazy to add anything right now. It is 1:47 in the morning, and I would rather be sleeping and dreaming of enemy wave patterns in Darius and shooting them down. Expect some good stuff on this page like Wind Waker, basically every Smash Bros. game, A Link to the Past, and probably a bit of crap on the NES or something like that.
This page will destroy any shred of a reputation that I still have, won't it?

I told you.
I have to be honest: I just cannot get into this game. I have not beat it, but I honestly feel like the game is fighting me when I do try to play it. I specifically do not care for either the gameplay or pacing. I am not sure which one, or even if it is both. I already know that I do not like how the King/Boat (I forgot his name) constantly seems to say: "I can't explain it now! We must hurry to [insert the dungeon name here]! We are running out of time!". I just wish I did not feel so rushed. Obviously, I am aware that I could simply ignore him (and I mostly do; it has been so long since I actually did what I was supposed to do that I completely forgot what I am supposed to be doing), but I wish that the main story would just chill a bit. Overall, I just feel like I am forcing myself to play whenever I do.
HOWEVER, that does not mean I entirely dislike this game. I know that some people did not like the art style when the game first released. I personally don't mind it. It is not my favorite, but it does not bother me at all. Get this: I really think the music is excellent! In short, it really is just the gameplay/pacing that I cannot get into in this game. Most everything else I either do not mind or I really like.
In all fairness, when I got this game (and shortly afterwards a GameCube to play it on; it is a long story), I kind of set up an expectation for this game that I, even then, kind of knew that this game was not that, so it really was just me that probably got myself to not like this game. I hope in time, I can come back and really enjoy The Wind Waker.
I also have the Wii U HD remake.
It sounds like I hate every Zelda game! This is not so, but I get what you might be thinking (if that is what you were indeed thinking).
In short, this one honestly feels like the first game with richer presentation, but still sort of empty. By that, I mean that there is no engaging story (at least engaging to me) like there is in Link's Awakening or Ocarina of Time (both of which are fantastic). Yes, the graphics are much more detailed and honestly better than the two NES games, but it feels like those two in terms of what to do. Like most things, I have not beat it, but I really think I will probably get through Wind Waker before I ever beat this game.
About the graphics: I do not hate them, but I think they are a little bit basic. This was an earlier game in the system's life, and I understand that. Super Mario World is similarly basic. However, somehow, I think that basic graphics work for Super Mario World, but I wish that a bit more detail would have been added for A Link to the Past. Ultimately, however, the graphics are not the reason why I do not like this game; it really is the feeling of emptiness in the story.
It could very well be that I have not gotten through enough of it to see a deeper story, and I completely admit this. However, if the first few (3-4) dungeons and the happenings in between them are any indication of what the game is like in the later portions, I do not see one.
I may have mentioned this somewhere else on this site before, but I really do not care for how a lot of SNES music sounds. It just sounds overly muted, and even a bit out of tune (or I could say "it has elements of microtonality" if I wanted to be more polite). Of course, some games either work around this somehow or just sound better. Final Fantasy III is one of them; the soundtrack is truly excellent. However, while I don't think that A Link to the Past is as muted/distorted as some other games (right now, the biggest examples I could think of are Star Fox and Breath of Fire, another one I could not get into), it still does seem to be heard. Like the graphics, the music is not why I dislike this game, but I did want to talk about various elements.
My SNES controllers' rubber contacts are really worn out; the D-Pad and buttons feel HORRIBLE, and I think this might even greatly affect how I feel for this game, but even then, I do not think that simply replacing the rubber contacts will automatically make me enjoy this game. There is something deeper (shallower?) at work, and it is a lack of a deep story.
I do not actually dislike this game, but there is one simple reason why this game is on this list: There is NO save feature! There is not even a password save! The controls, music, graphics, and overall gameplay are great, but this game seems a bit long to not have a save feature.
I have Super Mario Collection (this is the Japanese All-Stars release), and they added a save feature, so I guess my criticism is really only directed towards the NES (and I guess Famicom) versions.
I don't hate them; I am just not a fighting game fan. My favorite would probably be the N64 version. I don't know why. I guess it was still a humble fighting game and not the huge deal it is today. However, I still rarely ever play any of the ones I have.
Deal with it.
Also, stop hijacking the subheadings.
Now, where were we... oh yes!
I am not the biggest Animal Crossing fan, but I do enjoy the GameCube one, and the DS one, but a little less since I do not have as much time with it. New Leaf was actually the first one I ever played, but I could not get into it then (that was like only a year and a half ago as of the end of 2021), and I could not get into it after I got the GameCube one and started liking it. I think that the problem is that the villagers (or animals?) are too polite. I don't want to re-write all that is one the Animal Crossing page. I think I explained my thoughts on that page quite well already, so if you want to know more, then I recommend that you read that page.
THIS IS A JOKE! OF COURSE I LIKE BREATH OF THE WILD.
Darius is better.
