A lot of stuff from other pages should have gone on a page like this, so I finally made one. This page is just for GAME updates. This is mostly stuff that I was writing on other pages that really did not have anything to do with the pages they were on.

I FINALLY GOT A FAT DS!!!!I have been wanting one since I first saw one probably almost 10 years ago. Anyway, now I have one. It is silver (and honestly, in worse cosmetic condition than I thought it would be, but it works completely fine and 100%). (This is June 1, 2021 me: Why am I talking about this on the PC Engine page? This belongs somewhere else.)
July 11, 2021
I bought a Famicom a few days ago (on the Thursday; today is Sunday). Also, I got HD Retrovision Genesis YPbPr cables a few weeks ago. Also, I found a Genesis model 2 at a pawn shop for $20, so I bought it. Also, I finally got the PS2 version of Katamari Damacy. Also, I got Me and My Katamari on the PSP a few weeks ago. Also, I got an HP 12c in a grab bag from an antique store for $5.. oH AnD pOkEmOn CaRdS.
SHUT UP, FLOPPY!
No; honestly, that was pretty much it. All of this happened while I was on a vacation. The Genesis 2 is actually quite nice, but it is missing the little plastic slide on cover for the CD expansion slot (I am talking about the black cover that is a part of the case. I am not talking about the little red cover for the actual card edge; it has that). It also did not come with any cabling or controllers at all. I think that is why they changed the price from $35 to $20. As for the HD Retrovision YPbPr cables, those are excellent. I also bought an adapter for the Genesis model 1 as well as for the Saturn. I knew about these for a long time, but I never really got them because I had to buy them online. Well, I saw them for sale in person at a game store, and I just decided to finally get them. I do not regret this decision. I do not regret getting Me and My Katamari for the PSP either, but I do enjoy going back to analog sticks to play other Katamari Damacy games. It works with just the buttons, and I even kind of feel used to it now, but it really is not the best control scheme. For Katamari Damacy on the PS2, I do not regret this either.
I also managed to find cartridge SLOT cleaning tools (instead of just (game) cartridge cleaning tools) for $1.
Also, while I was on the trip, I sold one of my working NESs to a family member because they are interested (at least somewhat) in old games as well. In addition to this, I gave away a CRT to them that only had RF inputs (but they were still happy with it I think). Later on, I bought a copy of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time from them. I have to admit, I really, REALLY like this game.
OH, OH OH! I forgot! Literally, the DAY (basically late afternoon) before I left, the copy of Darius Cozmic Revelation that I pre-ordered finally arrived! I have to tell you this: G-Darius HD is EXCELLENT! Oh, and I played many of the original Darius arcade cabinets on the trip. I mean the actual cabinets.
Unfortunately, I still did not find Taito Legends 1 on the PS2.

A week ago today, a package from Japan came in. It was something that I won in an auction on eBay.
"What could it possibly be, Floppy? Is it your 15th Japanese copy of Wii Music? Maybe it's a crate of them?"
It is a "boxed" (it's missing the manuals/paperwork) Family Basic set. This was a peripheral + cartridge for the Famicom that allowed you to program in BASIC. If you know all about this, then you will be exicted (?) to know that the revision I have is 2.0A, NOT 3. The keyboard is in excellent shape. There is almost no yellowing, and the only things that were there were some old stains that easily wiped away. It honestly looks brand new. The box is a little beat up, however, but that is fine. I really wanted it for the keyboard and the BASIC cartridge. The fact that it came with the box was more of a bonus for me. I originally saw it when the auction was somewhere around a whole dollar (if I remember right), and luckily I won the bid. I am too lazy to take a photo of it all right now, but one day I will.
I also managed to start replacing the capacitors in my Genesis Model 1 (it is a VA7). So far, it still works, but I did rip off a solder pad. Luckily, it looks like the one that was ripped off was mainly there so that the capacitor legs could be soldered to it. There were no traces going on that side to it. There are some sound issues with this one, so that is why I started to replace the capacitors. I am brand new to soldering (with the exception of replacing a few save batteries and the GameCube internal clock battery [which went incredibly smoothly]), so I plan to only do a few capacitors at a time. So far, it is removing the capacitors and getting the hole cleared of solder that is the hardest for me right now. Once that is all taken care of, soldering the new capacitor in place was really easy.

I hope that everyone has a good Thanksgiving this year! I am writing this after our Thanksgiving dinner. I finally finished the "My Video (And Audio) Wiring Setup" page. I am sorry I left it unfinished for so long. Anyway, if you read that page, then you know that I tried to replace the laser for one of my Japanese PS1s, but everything did not go well, so I have decided that I "officially" do not own any Japanese PS1s or any Japanese PS1 games.
Other than that, I did buy the standalone copies of G-Darius HD and Dariusburst Another Chronicles EX + on the Switch. I bought some other random games, as well as an American copy of Majora's Mask (this was several months ago), but I did not get any new consoles. Lately, I have not bought a lot (other than the necessities: duplicates of Darius games that I mentioned above). Oh, I did find a copy of Luigi's Mansion at a thrift store back at the beginning of August. It is the Player's Choice version, of which I am fine with, but it does not have the manual, which is a shame. However, this does not bother me as much in this situation because it was a thrift store find. If this was at a game store, I would be more disappointed.
Anyway, I plan to probably get one or two PC-Engine games soon. I would like one of them to be "The Newzealand Story", but that might be a bit expensive. Other than that, I do want to look into these "Triad" power supplies that some people say are good substitutes/replacements for original console power supplies. At the very least, I would like to get at least one or two for my Famicom and Mega Drive. However, I would like to eventually replace all of the power supplies I can with these if they end up being good, but that would be almost 10 or even more than that. I would have to either get or replace my Famicom, NES, Super Famicom, Master System/Genesis Model 1 (or buy one for each), Mega Drive Model 1, PC Engine, SNES (or both of them) and Genesis Model 2 power supplies (I already have to replace my Genesis Model 2 power supply. It is a cheap one I bought just to make sure the thing worked when I bought it). So yea, if I bought one for each console and its duplicates, that is 10.
You know, I think I am going to work on the calculator page now. I have not worked on that since I started this website, and that was 11 months ago.
I am writing this an hour or so after I just wrote the paragraph above. I did work (a tiny bit) on the calculator page, and I also FINALLY wrote the page in Japanese that I talked about on the GameCube page. I will probably expand it.
Oh, I think I will create yet another page about the Family Basic keyboard, and I will actually put a picture of it on the page!

I got some deals today. I traded in a copy of Pokemon X, and with that money I was able to buy Gradius for the NES and Namco Museum Battle Collection for the PSP (it is the "Greatest Hits" one but I don't really mind) with about $5.50 left over. With that, I was able to buy a *complete* (it is missing the manual) copy of OutRun for the Master System. The first two games were 30% off, while OutRun was 20% off. I only had to pay about $10 cash to cover the cost of OutRun. So, for black Friday, I was able to trade in a Pokemon game I did not care about and spend only about $10 for three games that I do care about.
I think I have mentioned before that I am not really a huge Gradius fan. I just don't care for how the upgrades work, as well as going back to checkpoints. However, I still wanted to get the NES one so that I could play it every now and then, and also to have it for my collection. The Namco Museum honestly looked cool, and it had both Xevious and Tower of Druaga. As for OutRun, I saw it and I wanted it.
So, that was my black Friday shopping. I honestly spent only a little bit, and with the massive assistance of a trade-in, I got some good games! Tomorrow I think we are going to a small Japanese grocery store. They don't have games there, but I still wanted to write that anyway. I will probably either get some Ramune or some ItoEn tea, or maybe both. However, nearby is another game store. Hopefully I can stop by and see if there is anything for a reasonable price, but if there is not, well then, at least I will get to see.
I think I am going to go talk about Whip Rush on the "Other SHMUPS" page. I said I was going to eventually talk about it, and I guess almost a year later seems alright.
I just came back from that, as well as fixing some punctuation errors/grammar errors/changing a bit of what I wrote on the SHMUP page. I also fixed the translation for my Japanese page a bit. The only thing I changed was the heading about me talking about how writing in Japanese is hard. It should have said "Writing in Japanese is a bit difficult", so I changed it to that. Otherwise, I did not change anything on that page.
November 27, 2021
I promise to not make this website nothing but my daily updates. I just have a lot of free time over the Thanksgiving break.
I will be able to talk about XDR as soon as it comes in. I finally got it! I was looking on YouTube for a second, and I did not notice any reviews of the game. While this website is obviously not a YouTube video, maybe I can at least have one of the larger descriptions and opinions about the game on the English internet.
I did not buy anything today that was game related. While I did not buy it; someone else did; I got some Pocky's as well as some ItoEn tea today.
Again, as for XDR, I will probably make a separate page for it. I kind of want to work on this website while I still have some time left during the Thanksgiving break. I might either expand some existing pages, and/or I might make other new pages as well.
December 3, 2021
XDR came early! It was not supposed to come until after the weekend (today is Friday). That means I can make a whole page dedicated to it! Go look for it on the "Games" page.
December 5, 2021
I have finally beat Darius II on the Mega Drive. It was NOT a 1CC, but I am still happy with this outcome. Leadain is the worst. My route was A-C-E-H(?)-L(?)-R(?)-X. I can't remember exactly if it was H-L-R or not, but I know the last stage was X.
December 21, 2021
Go see the PC Engine and my A/V Setup pages. I added a few things there. I also had to re-adjust the potentiometer for the GameCube laser. It was giving me some trouble again. It is an aftermarket laser. It is adjusted to WELL below what it should be, but I honestly don't care that much, since if this laser goes bad, it was not an original, and I already have another entire assembly (except the spindle) ready to go after some extremely minor adjustments on that one. Even if that one goes, too (one day it obviously will), I can get another cheap aftermarket laser and put that in. I just hope they will continue to make the lasers. Lasers are my biggest fear with gaming. Luckily, it looks like the Saturn has an easy-to-get laser, as well as the PS2. This is one reason I do not yet have a PC Engine CD-ROM setup yet (except for cost): I read that the laser was some specially designed laser, and there really are not any new replacements.
I had an idea, but I have no clue if this could even be done. It would be cool if someone developed a multi-use laser: one for CDs, one for DVDs, and I guess one for BluRays (the PS3 uses those right?). The laser itself (among the CD ones, the DVD ones, and the BluRay ones) would be standard, and there would be circuitry that is designed for each console. After that, the laser+circuitry could fit into an assembly for each console. Basically, what I am talking about is a modular and standardized laser replacement for each console. If I had electrical engineering knowledge as well as knowledge of how optical disk technology worked, I would like to start this, but I do not have anything like that. This is just my idea. Basically, for example, the PC Engine CD-ROM systems, Saturn, and PS1 all use CDs. What if a single laser head (I think that is what it is called: the actual laser itself) was developed, and this could plug into a board that is specific to each system, and those two things together could be fit inside an assembly as a replacement. The same thing could be done for DVD-based consoles. That would be cool, but I don't think anything like that would ever happen. I just wanted to write it down somewhere, and I guess after an update on PC-Engine face buttons seemed appropriate?
January 11, 2022
It has been a while since I have updated this site, but oh boy do I have stuff to talk about! But first, yesterday, Darius Extra Version for the Genesis CAME IN YESTERDAY! I should have wrote about it then, but I was playing it just 5 minutes ago, and I had an idea. For Darius II/Sagaia on the Genesis/Mega Drive, if you look up a list of cheats for the game, you will see that entering "ZTT" on the score screen will basically send you to the sound test screen. I thought about doing that for Darius Extra Version. I was not sent to any screen unfortunately, and instead, I was sent to the title screen. Well, I went to the options screen, and, surprise, there is a BGM option now! Maybe everyone else knows about this, but I just found it. I had to stop playing and open my computer and update this site to tell about this. "Captain Neo" is playing as I write this.
Other updates include: I got the Spark Plug for the PC Engine, I found an American copy of G-Darius, I found a complete copy of Outrun 2019, and I got some calculators. I will (eventually) write much more on these things.
I also cleaned out a TON of battery acid from things (mostly more calculators), but I guess that's not really an update.
June 23, 2022
This was already about two or three weeks ago, but I got a third PC-Engine game. I think I have already talked about it on this site (or maybe not), but I got a loose copy of The Newzealand Story. I am enjoying it so far, though a level select cheat would be nice. If there is one, I do not know about it. Other than that, there is not too much new. I got a second set of shelves yesterday, but that was about it. I got some more Famicom games as well over the past month, and I even got a Sega Saturn game back in January of February (it was Sega Touring Car Championship). I have been playing lots of G-Darius HD, though, and even a bit today and yesterday on the PS1, and on Taito Legends 2. I am glad that the Version 2 update finally released in the West. Of course, I will have to talk about it. I also need to add more thoughts/update my previous thoughts about G-Darius on the Darius page (it's a short read if you are interested :) ), since most of that page was based on my experiences with Darius II on the Mega Drive as well as Darius Gaiden. Now that I have been playing mostly G-Darius more, I will need to add my thoughts. This is a small preview of probably what I will say: Bofner is kind of right when he said that it tries to be a bullet hell but it's not a good thing, but it is still incredibly fun, even if I cannot 1CC it currently (I am working on it, though). Either way, I am glad I can play it on the PS1 (or the PS2 with backwards compatibility), on the PS2 through Taito Legends 2, or on the Switch.
I think I want to get some more PS2 games. I still want the first Taito Legends, but some others would be great as well. Of course, I would like Shmups, but some other genres would honestly be nice as well. I don't have any specific games, however, so I guess it will just be me finding something and looking it up in a store, and if I like it, I will buy it.
A while back I also got Animal Crossing New Horizons.
X-Dazedly-Ray still fascinates me, Jupiter Strike is still bad, and I am still not a big fan of Smash. In fact, I think I have only played it twice since I last updated this website.
I also started re-making this website in straight HTML instead of using Google Sites like this one is. I have not recreated every page yet (that will be a nightmare), but I have some of them done. I also took the time to re-word some of the pages, especially the Japanese page. If you read the Japanese portion of that page, then my new one is *maybe* a bit better. I don't have the English translation done on the new one yet, though. My plan is to eventually have the HTML version that I wrote replace this website, but there are two things stopping me currently. The first is that, like I said, I do not have every page done yet. I only have about 5 pages of the Game section done (somehow, however, the Calculator section on the HTML version is better than the one I have currently on here). The second thing is that I do not know how I would keep the domain name but have the new version instead. I will try to learn, and maybe one day, the website will actually look like it is from the 1990s, instead of the attempt I made of it here (I know the attempt on this current website is not perfect).
September 23, 2022
I know I have not done much in a while. I did add a new page today, though I started working on that late last night.
As far as games, I recently got a few Famicom Games, including Dragon Spirit and Balloon Fight. I also got a complete copy of ToeJam and Earl on the Mega Drive last week. Over the summer, I was finally able to find a complete copy of Super Mario Sunshine for $40 (This is lower than what I typically find). Other than that, I really did not buy much recently. Oh, wait, at the same time as ToeJam and Earl, I did find the manual for Ocarina of Time.
I think I want to try and find that Gamecube promotional disk with Ocarina of Time and its Master Quest. I want to see what this Master Quest is like. The only other game for the Gamecube that I still really want is Double Dash.
Other than games, I found another Casio graphing calculator last week for $5, so now I have 3 Casio graphing calculators. I should really work on the calculator page. If I talked about every calculator I have, it would rival the Darius' page in length (even though we all know that the Darius page is the shortest on this site).
I did come across Taito Legends 1 at the same time I found Super Mario Sunshine, but it was overpriced.
I have been working on Darius Gaiden, and I have been able to 1CC it once or twice as long as I use the rapid fire setting. I have not beaten it without dying, though. This was a mixture of the Switch and the Saturn versions that I have been playing, but I prefer the Saturn version because of the D-Pad instead of the Switch's D-Pad/Analog stick.
I am realizing that the home page says that I may talk about computers on this site, but more than a year and a half later, I have not. This stops now. Over the summer, I bought a netbook at a pawn shop for $35. I have installed Debian, and I am using Window Maker as the GUI. The battery life is kind of bad, though. For reference, it is a Lenovo IdeaPad S10 (it could be the S10-e; it does not have whatever the slot was that was the successor to PCMCIA). I spent a lot of time trying out different Linux distributions and desktop environments, as well as getting the wireless working, but I think that Debian with Window Maker seems to offer the best balance I have seen on this computer so far. When I bought it, it had XP on it, but once I was able to, I installed something, I forgot whether it was Linux Mint or OpenBSD (I think I also tried NetBSD). If this thing had better battery life, I would actually use it quite a bit (no, I am not writing this from there, by the way). It is slow, but it is sort of usable.
Alright, that is enough about computers.
This update is kind of long.
Oh, I did get a security monitor at another pawn shop for $5, but it only accepts composite (with NO audio), but the worst thing is that the colors are way off. It is an older monitor, so maybe it is just at the end of it's life. OR, I need to put this "75-ohm terminator" on the video out plug, but I really don't know. From what I saw, not having this could cause the image to be too bright, but I have the opposite problem. It is too dim, and still the colors are off. I will keep it though, even though I only used it for a few weeks and then removed it from my setup. Because of this whole ordeal, though, I have managed to somehow consolidate my whole setup to work on ONE CRT, the Toshiba. While I still own the Daewoo, it is not plugged in right now. The only things that are either not plugged into any TV, or are on a flatscreen, are these: My Wii and Xbox 360 are not plugged into anything, while my WiiU is plugged into a flatscreen, with the Dreamcast sitting on top of it, though that is also not plugged into anything. It would go into this TV, though. Lastly, my Master System is not plugged into a TV. I have to switch out the output of a composite switch going into the Toshiba to plug in the Master System, but that is it.
Ok, that is the end of this update.
-----September 26, 2024-----
Well, it's been slightly over two years TO THE DAY since I ever bothered to update the site. Oh well. A lot has happened, but, in short:
Analogue Duo
Analogue Pocket
Other
Yea, that "other" I'm sure is helpful to all of you, but it's too much to put here. Basically, I don't know where the extra NESs went (I know I gave one away), I got a spare SNES, and the US Genesis Model 1 is no longer in operation, due to a failed attempt at "learning" how to desolder capacitors. Oh well, at least I got the Model 2.
The wiring job is completely different I'm sure; I haven't bothered to read what I had two years ago. Basically, everything except the Duo, Dreamcast, and WiiU (and the Mini consoles, as they are all HDMI) are on the Toshiba. I still have the HD Retrovision cables, and I even got the "Spark Plug" for the PC Engine, which lets me use that cable with the PC Engine, but.... since I now have the Duo, unfortunately, all of my PC Engine gaming has been done on that instead. I do wish that the Duo had an analogue RGB out (preferably out of a Genesis Model 2 style plug) so that I could use it on the Toshiba CRT, but alas, this is not the case. In the last few days, I have considered the acquisition and use of downscalers and HDMI to YPbPr converters, but I still need to research these further.
The Analogue Pocket happened mostly as a way for me to be able to play Game Gear games into the future without having to worry about more bad capacitors. Naturally, I have the Game Gear adapter for it as well, and I hope to get that "3 pack HuCard, Lynx, and NeoGeo Pocket" set. I wish they sold them individually, because the only one of those I truly want is just the HuCard adapter, but I guess getting the NeoGeo Pocket adapter would be nice as well, and I guess I could be bothered to get a Lynx game or two. But, I have not bought this yet.
Hopefully while I am updating this, some pictures of the Duo, Pocket, and some other PC Engine games will be uploaded to their respective pages. Check the PC Engine page and the Darius page (yes, luckily Darius is involved here...) to see specifically what I got.
I have been informed that there is indeed readership of this website recently. This surprises me.
